The Blochii Tang, also known as Ringtail Tang / Surgeonfish is a large silver tang species with blue accents along their fins. These fish will grow up to 16-18 inches and require a tank of at least 250 gallons or more. They are well suited for reef environments, and will thrive on a varied diet of seaweed, shrimp, and pellets. The Surgeonfish family consists of fish which are colorful, thin-bodied, and usually have an oval shape. These fish have long continuous dorsal and anal fins and crescent tailfins. The scalpel at the base of their tailfin is very sharp and is used by the fish for protection from predators as well as a way of establishing itself with other fish.
