The Toadstool Leather Coral, Sarcophyton trocheliophorum, also known as the Crown Leather Coral, doesn't have a hard exoskeleton like LPS and SPS corals. They possess eight tentacles on individual polyps. The Toadstool Leather is best housed with plenty of light, good filtration, and moderate waterflow. Sometimes, it can release toxins into the tank so proper filtration is essential. It does have a unique feature the lets it clean itself and prohibits harmful algae from growing on its surface. The Toadstool Leather is easily fragged. Overall, this is an interesting and unique coral that is easy to care for making it an excellent choice for most aquariums.
