The Red Cheek Wrasse, Thalassoma genivittatum, has a distinct emerald green body with a bright red head and cheeks giving it the name Red cheek wrasse. Often the Red Cheek Wrasse has vibrant yellow finnage with 2 pink streaks at the end of their tail. This Wrasse requires a tank with plenty of rock for the wrasse to retreat to and a good amount of soft sandy substrate for it to hide in if spooked. The tank should have a tightly closed lid to prevent the Checkerboard Wrasse from escaping.They often hunt and feed on pesky bristle worms making them a beneficial addition to most tanks.
