The Spotted Sharpnose Pufferfish (Canthigaster punctatissima) is a small puffer native to the Eastern Pacific Ocean, where it hides among local reefs and rocky outcroppings. They have a dark brown or bronze body along with small white polka dots. They reach a maximum size of 4 inches and should be kept in a tank of at least 40 gallons. Though they can be housed in a reef aquarium, they should be monitored, to ensure they are not nipping at small polyps. Their main diet consists of small crustaceans, so they should not be kept with prized invertebrates. They should have plenty of space to swim and their diet should be omnivorous, with mysis, krill or other frozen foods being offered daily.
Love love this fish. Glad I bought it. Peaceful, very inquisitive. It gets along with my other puffer (Valentini) and other fish in my fish only aquarium. Can highly recommend.
